When you get your first appearance notice; Here are some resources that may help you. You should not wait. Many loose a job, get injured, become sick and other reasons why you loose your income. If you are on housing program, you should let your housing specialist know immediately, as there are resources that may help you prevent your eviction. Many cases a land lord will work with you if they know that you are working on an alternate funding source.

Executive order NJ 222 UPDATE Eviction prevention: to expire on March 19, 2021. Unless the Governor extends it, or ends it early, the eviction moratorium will therefore last at least until May 19, 2021.
