Thanksgiving is almost here! There are plenty of Organizations that are having Community events, like Turkey give-a-ways and free community dinners! Starting with Mount Olive Church on Central Ave. in Hackensack, they are one of the first to announce that they are having a free community Thanksgiving day feast although the exact time has not been released. they have also started up their free community 4’th Saturday community lunches each month starting at 12 noon.
Pictured in the Cover photo; Kate Dugan and Tommy Turkey hat, plan, coordinate and make Thanksgiving dinners for the Housing, Health and human services center in Hackensack as well as the Christ Church Thanksgiving feast, which happens simultaneously. (They will announce shortly their times for their Thanksgiving dinners). Also, “The Center” is still doing intakes as well as assessments; Just an FYI! If you know someone who is homeless or at risk of becoming homeless they should contact the center’s Next step program and first dial 211 (the NJ homeless hotline)!
NJ211.org can also find locations around the state that might be serving Thanksgiving dinners as well as local food pantries that can help with meals and food for the holidays!
