If your case is due to be re-certified in March or April and you were unable to get your paperwork in or complete your interview, your case will not be closed. You will receive your benefits on the usual day. Your case will be re-certified at some point in the future, once this public health crisis has settled. In the meantime, you will continue to receive SNAP benefits.

Bergen County- “The Center” -UPDATES FOR SHELTER

Here are some of the changes, additions, companies & Government are making to accommodate for all the shutdowns…

First of all, one of the biggest things, situations in Bergen and beyond that people go threw are evictions! Check out the NJ court’s decisions CLICK HERE to check out the suspension of courts!

While school is out for so many, The state of NJ will soon be implementing additions to s.n.a.p. CLICK HERE FOR that story!

Utilities and phone services will not be suspending service for lack of payment! CLICK HERE! <(Suez) Go to P.S.E.G. for their statement! Most phone are working with the FCC to help out as well! it’s called “KEEP AMERICANS CONNECTED PLEDGE” You wont get disconnected!

NJ DMV ALSO has some good news for you to check out! extensions & info on expiring licenses and such..

Many other Government agencies have similar programs going on during the events that are unfolding! While this page is ONLY a guide for some ideas, it’s a good idea to check the links for your self as they may update or discontinue programs!! Updates daily on the HRG Face Book Pg too!

First of all;

The Bergen county homeless shelter and dept. of housing and human services besides being a homeless shelter they have a wide variety of services for all of our homeless and low income community. 201-336-6475 they are located at 120 south river street in hackensack. If you want to know what services there are out there, that you might qualify for, they have a very knowledgeable staff that can direct you to a program that is right for you and if you don’t need their services you can drop in to have a great lunch and dinner.

after breakfast they have what they call next step. it is where you can get a wide variety of resources and programs that might fit your needs.

many organizations are placed there to help with your needs in our community. drop by there sometime! free meals for the community lunch and dinner lunch 7 days a week 11:30-12:30

dinner 5-6 next step is 9:30-11 am and 1pm-4pm next step has a variety of resources..
